We can only convert content you personally own or have the rights to. This includes home videos, personal recordings, original music, and home movies. We cannot convert commercially produced content — this includes store-bought movies, TV shows on tape, or commercially released music cassettes. All payments are processed through Square. We do not store credit card information on our servers. Square's privacy policy governs payment data handling.

Memory Recovery Lab provides mail-in media conversion services (VHS, cassette, and other tape formats to USB/DVD) and data recovery services, operated by Gadget Repair Clinic. By submitting an order, you agree to these terms in full.
Customers are responsible for securely packing and shipping their items to our facility. Memory Recovery Lab is not responsible for damage or loss that occurs during inbound transit. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment for the full replacement value of your items.
Once we receive and log your items, they are covered under our facility's standard care practices. We handle all items with reasonable care, but we are not responsible for pre-existing damage, deterioration due to age, or damage caused by attempting to play or process items that are already damaged.
Memory Recovery Lab covers the cost of return shipping on all qualifying orders. Return shipments are sent via standard carrier service. We are not responsible for loss or damage that occurs during return transit once the package has been handed to the carrier. We provide tracking information for all return shipments.
Our typical turnaround time is approximately 4 weeks from receipt of your items. This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Rush processing is available for an additional fee and reduces your position in the queue — it does not guarantee a specific delivery date. We will communicate any significant delays.
Data recovery results cannot be guaranteed. By submitting a device for data recovery, you acknowledge that:
If an item arrives in a condition that makes conversion impossible or unsafe (severe mold, physical destruction, broken housing beyond repair), we will contact you before proceeding. You may authorize us to attempt conversion at your risk, request the item be returned, or discuss other options. We will not attempt to convert an item we believe will cause damage to our equipment without your explicit authorization.
If we cannot convert an item due to its condition, the item will be returned to you. You will not be charged for the conversion, but return shipping costs may apply.
Payment is collected via Square invoice after your items arrive and are counted/assessed. By placing an order, you agree to pay the invoiced amount within 7 days of invoice receipt. Orders not paid within 14 days may result in your items being held until payment is received.
You may cancel an order before your items are shipped to us at no charge. Once your items have been received and processing has begun, cancellation is not possible. Completed orders are non-refundable except in cases where we have failed to deliver the agreed service.
If you are unsatisfied with the quality of a completed conversion, contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. We will review the issue and work to resolve it, which may include re-processing at no charge.
Memory Recovery Lab's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific order at issue. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of sentimental value, loss of business, or emotional distress.
We take extraordinary care with your items because we understand their irreplaceable value. However, by submitting items that are fragile, degraded, or of high sentimental value, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in physical media conversion.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
